Seksuel jalousi i tibetansk polyandri: Prins Peters redningsantropologi i Kalimpong

Publikation: Bidrag til tidsskriftTidsskriftartikelForskningfagfællebedømt

Prince Peter spent 7 years from 1950-1957 exploring Tibetan polyandry and cultural heritage in the Himalayan town of Kalimpong, on the Tibet-India border, unable to enter Tibet proper due to the Chinese expansion into Tibet in 1950. He was particularly interested in understanding the dynamics and uncovering the psychoanalytical implications of sexual jealously in polyandrous marriages, and searched for insights among the Tibetan diaspora and refugees in Kalimpong. Polyandrous practices were an immaterial cultural heritage to be rescued on par with material cultural heritage.
